The iconic Crucible Theatre and venue for World Snooker was extended to create a new more visible entrance, improved access and upgraded foyer and bar facilities. The electrical services were completely replaced and new efficient ventilation systems provided. A sustainable solution to providing air conditioning was through the installation of an absorption chiller which uses eco-friendly Sheffield District Heating as its heat source. The project was supported by the Arts Council.
