The first of architect Sir Peter Cook’s completed buildings in the UK, this is an iconic building for the University where he himself learnt to draw. It is a stand-alone studio, teaching, drawing and exhibition space, fabricated as a steel shell by ship builders in Germany, and naturally ventilated via its distinctive clerestory windows. Thanks in part to its high level of insulation and natural light, the building achieved a BREEAM Excellent Rating.
